HONORARY DOCTORATE AND NATIONAL AWARD WINNING DIRECTOR & PRODUCER

Vibha Bakshi is a pathbreaking, multi-award winning film director and producer.

Vibha is the winner of four National Film Awards from the President of India, the highest recognition in Indian cinema.

Vibha was recently conferred the Honorary Doctorate from her alma mater Boston University for successfully activating global movements for change through the power of her films. She received this honour alongside civil rights icon John Lewis and scientist Dr. Anthony Fauci. Recent honourees to receive the Doctorate also included Steven Spielberg.

Vibha’s latest film SON RISE has been selected by the United Nations global HeForShe movement to be shown across 71 priority countries to change the narrative on gender inequality and injustice globally.

Her previous groundbreaking documentary ‘Daughters of Mother India’ put the spotlight on the burning issue of rape and gender violence and was screened for over 150,000 Police officers in India to gender sensitise the force. The film holds the distinction of being THE MOST AWARDED SOCIAL CAMPAIGN IN THE WORLD – Global Creative Index 2017.

Vibha works spans across causes and continents. Vibha is co-Producer with Academy Award winning film director Maryann DeLeo. Their work includes HBO’s film ‘Too Hot NOT to Handle’ on climate change and ‘Terror at Home’, a film which was part of the United States Government’s Emmy Award-winning campaign to Stop Violence Against Women.

Attar Singh Saini’s long work experience and love for his craft has made him an integral part of the Indian Film Industry.

He is a graduate from Film & TV Institute of India, Pune (1992 batch), which is one of premier film Schools of Asia.

He is based in Mumbai and has been working in the Film and TV Industry of India for the last two decades.

Attar Singh Saini is an active member of Western Indian Cinematographer Association (WICA) and Cinematographer’s Combine (CC).

Attar has worked in many Bollywood films including Chocolate, Buddha in Traffic Jam, Akshay Kumar’s Khiladi 786 and recently the National Award winning film ‘Daughters of Mother India’ which holds the distinction of being ‘THE MOST AWARDED SOCIAL CAMPAIGN IN THE WORLD.’- Global Creative Index.

HEMANTI SARKAR

Hemanti Sarkar is a one of India’s most critically acclaimed freelance film editor. She is the winner of the prestigious National Film Award for Best Editing (non feature) for SON RISE. The film, directed and produced by Vibha Bakshi is also the winner of the National Film Award – Best Film ( non feature).

Hemanti also holds a post graduate diploma in film and video editing from the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. She has been an associate editor to Renu Saluja, who was one of the earliest women editors in India and a pioneer in the New Age Cinema Movement. Hemanti has edited several feature films including Parineeta, Peepli Live, English Vinglish, Shamitabh, Airlift, Dear Zindagi, Secret Superstar and Stree.  Hemanti Sarkar is also the editor of the National Award winning film ‘Daughters of Mother India.’
